Job Description

Position: Furnace Technician
Location: IKO Glass Fiber Inc., Chester, SC
Department: Production
Type: Full Time (FT/PT/Cont)

Responsibilities
  • Maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality
  • Promote safety and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor and manage batch storage, delivery, weighing, and mixing
  • Coordinate with QC and raw material carriers for unloading raw materials
  • Adjust process controls to ensure efficient operation
  • Monitor glass formation and adjust furnace variables for optimal performance
  • Inspect furnaces regularly and address issues promptly
  • Assist with furnace changes, start-ups, shutdowns, repairs, and rebuilds
  • Support maintenance team with repairs and process adjustments
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
  • Perform other duties as required
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in furnace operations
  • At least three years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including days and nights
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights
