Production Manager
Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of a manufacturing department, focusing on employee training, safety adherence, performance, product quality, process improvement, and achieving production target goals.
Responsibilities- Enforce strict safety guidelines and ensure environmental compliance.
- Balance safety, quality, cost, and delivery to achieve positive results.
- Collaborate with the manager on daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to department leads and employees.
- Track and report daily production metrics.
- Analyze production data and reports to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure safe use of equipment and notify manager when maintenance is needed.
- Review production output against quality specifications.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with employees regarding goals and expectations.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Train new employees on safe machinery use and proper procedures.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure employees complete required safety and compliance training by scheduled due dates.
- Work closely with other shift supervisors to ensure effective handovers.
- Manage vendor and client communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of transformer or manufacturing supervision experience.
- Journeyman Electrical or Master certification preferred.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- WMS experience preferred.
- OSHA
10 certification preferred. - Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred.
- Track record of safety excellence.
- Ability to interpret work orders and ensure the team has necessary resources.
- Achieve department and production goals set by the manager.
- Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
- Strong work ethic, excellent communication, problem‑solving skills, cooperative attitude, keen attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.
- Adherence to company policies and core values.
- Ability to learn other department functions and fill in as needed.
- Complete compliance and safety training when required.
- Work a flexible schedule and perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times.
- Stand and walk for long durations.
- Bend, squat, and kneel multiple times for long durations.
- Climb up and down a ladder multiple times.
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in heat and cold as the facility is not climate controlled.
