POSITIONSUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspection functions of assembled parts. The inspector verifies compliance with the Sonaca North America Quality System, reads and interprets customer instructions, blueprints, and statistical data, prepares parts and documentation for outside criteria, and participates in work‑center and problem‑solving teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist production personnel in establishing and documenting inspection criteria.
- Prepare parts and documentation to meet outside criteria.
- Complete all required inspection documentation and communicate as needed with customers.
- Record data on the Work Order Tracking System, including notes and observations.
- Document non‑conforming material per the Quality System Requirements.
- Identify parts deficiencies and help prevent further recurrences.
- Determine product acceptability according to work order and customer requirements.
- Maintain “stop the job” authority at any stage of process.
- Conduct sampling inspection and adhesion testing.
- Maintain good housekeeping in inspection areas.
- Handle customer‑supplied product with care.
- Use calibrated thickness masters, shims, and certified master materials samples.
- Verify the job, matching actual parts with the work order, part numbers, electronic pictures, and part count.
- Meet Sonaca North America’s quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Access applicable Prime customer specifications on SharePoint.
- Manage time effectively to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules.
- Interact professionally with co‑workers and vendors, fostering good relations.
- Follow all safety requirements and enforce compliance.
- Work overtime or weekends on short notice as required.
- Perform duties assigned by the Inspection Lead.
- Respond quickly to inquiries and follow up as needed.
- Embrace change to ensure overall success of the company.
- High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates without a diploma must complete a pre‑employment assessment.
- Ability to read and comprehend American English.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand customer drawings, mylars, and sketches.
- Good working knowledge of all internal procedures and customer requirements.
- Knowledge of processes performed in the chemical processing area.
- Strong communication skills with inspection personnel, floor operators, and customer service representatives.
- Flexible and self‑driven.
- Proficiency in using the Work Order Tracking Program and the Quality System on SharePoint.
- Professionalism when dealing with subordinates and superiors.
- Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot and correct problems.
- Compliance with written and verbal directions.
- Basic math skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle stressful situations.
- Honesty, ethics, motivation, presentation, organizational and planning skills, analytical skills, positive attitude, dependability, team building, and strong work ethic.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the manufacturing floor, including eye, ear, and foot protection. May occasionally lift or move up to 10–50 pounds.
