Tool & Die Maker​/Machinist - 1st Shift

Hours

6:00 am - 2:30 pm M-F

Analyze specifications, set up and operate machine tools to manufacture parts, fit and assemble parts to fabricate and/or repair various types of dies.

• Study prints, sketches, models, job orders and visualize product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
• Compute dimensions, plan layout and determine assembly method and sequence of operations.
• Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, bridge ports, etc. to machine parts and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Assemble parts into product and verify dimensions, alignments and clearances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Able to use and understand all required tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Understanding of basic math concepts.
• Ability to read and understand prints, bills of material, setup sheets, etc., and follow oral and written instructions.
• Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Organization and planning skills.
• Ability to work well with others.

• Prefer successful completion of related coursework at a trade or technical school.

• Strong manufacturing experience.
• Observe safety and security procedures by using equipment and materials properly.
• Consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
• Follow instructions, respond to management direction.
• Takes responsibility for own actions.
• Commits to extra hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
• Completes tasks on time.
