Responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, load, and unload merchandise. Repairs and maintains facilities as instructed. Handling, moving, and storage of hazardous waste containers, response to spills, inspection of containers, and assisting with proper waste disposal. The distribution center is a logistics based department, and as such we are required to potentially work 15 hours of overtime per week, depending on the workload.
EssentialFunctions
- Safely operate forklifts or any other power equipment to complete various tasks and projects assigned.
- Ensure inbound and outbound products are accurate and free of damage.
- Efficiently move products from storage to other locations in the warehouse, as well as loading and unloading trucks.
- Follow safety and health procedures including goggles, gloves, and other apparatus required for the safe completion of the job.
- Maintain plant facilities, tools and other items used in the performance of the employee’s duties.
- Follow the appropriate Hazmat clean‑up and disposal procedures and immediately report all spills to supervisor.
- All duties must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Any unsafe working conditions must be reported to supervisor and corrective actions must be taken before proceeding with job.
- Fabricate, repair and maintain any equipment used in manufacturing processes if requested to do so by superiors.
- Ensure all warehouse loads for the day are complete regardless of the hours of operation.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and/or two to four years related experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating a forklift.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

- Physical Abilities: Lift and carry up to 100 pounds in various packaging. Tip and move 55‑gallon drums, weighing up to 600 pounds, with the use of a drum dolly.
Chemical manufacturing environment inside and outside of metal buildings. Employee could be faced with working in temperature extremes. Must be able to work in a chemical odor environment. Able to lift and carry 100 pounds. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Helpful to be able to drive a forklift safely.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, goggles, etc.
