Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting Maintenance Team Member opportunity in our Rolla, Kansas location. The Maintenance Team Member will assist in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facility sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
- Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
- Must be on call available for emergency situations.
Instills trust, communicates effectively, action-oriented, ensures accountability, and drives results.
Qualifications- Two‑year technical degree or greater, high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must possess a current valid driver’s license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card.
The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After‑hours, weekends and overnight travel as requested.
WORK ENVIRONMENT- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
- The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in.
