Location: Wathena

The General Assembly Technician will be responsible for the assembly of the body and all truck components.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill of materials and blueprints.
  • Position and secure components per print locations.
  • Fit and secure components using hand and power tools.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Maintain and wear all required personal protective safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment & Physical Abilities
  • Requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate simple to complex and heavy‑duty machinery.
  • Normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience working with basic hydraulic and electrical systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience working with tools, equipment, or machinery and the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues is desired.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
  • Must be able to proficiently read a tape measure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post‑offer background check, physical and drug screening.
