Production Worker - Split​/Thin Veneer Departments

Split and Thin Veneer employees focus on the production of our veneer product line. Each department works to minimize yield and maximize production to meet daily goals. Employees measure and craft pieces using a variety of tools and equipment supplied by the company. Focus on quality control and efficiency in production is critical.

• Understand how the finished product should appear and utilize resources to produce required quantities.
• Carefully palletize completed products for safe transport.
• Maintain attention to detail and quality control parameters for all produced items.
• Operate all machinery, including splitters and thin veneer flats/corners tumblers.
• Understand and initiate all machine care and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to all health and safety practices and procedures.
• Work as a reliable teammate, helping/train co‑workers as needed.
• Produce work at a fast pace while maintaining quality.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by plant management team.

• Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance; able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willing and able to use or learn computer‑based and mechanical equipment.
• Work well within a team environment; reliable and self‑motivated.
• Effective communication skills; bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Prompt and ready to work each workday (unless prior arrangement).

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Employees with specialized skills may advance more quickly.

• Level 1:
  Learns stone colors, operates equipment, helps with palletizing.
• Level 2:
  Distinguishes stone colors, understands basic products without assistance, learns machine basics, meets production goals.
• Level 3:
  Produces all split and thin veneer products, manages planning, raw materials, production, palletizing, record turning for job completion.
• Department Lead:
  Assists supervisor in scheduling, slabbing, production, palletizing, record entry, mentors others, aids quality control, fills in for supervisor.
