Senior Pastor – First Baptist Church

We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and servant-minded senior pastor to work hand in hand with our deacon team to lead our church. For nearly 150 years, First Baptist Church has served the Ellinwood, Great Bend, and Stafford area as a regional rural church. Teaching and preaching God’s Word faithfully, disciple-making, personal connection with church members, and community outreach are key focuses of our ministry.

• Diligence: “Being faithful to invest whatever gifts God has given you to maximize our impact for Him” (Matt 25:22–23, 2 Pet 1:5)
• Stability: “The ability to stay with the work over the long haul” (1 Cor 15:58, Isa 33:6)
• Vision:
  Foresight and insight, looking beyond the negatives to see the positives that only God could see (Jn 18:15–27, 21:15–19)
• Integrity: “God must be the first priority and being true to Him and His Word” (1 Tim 4:12, Prov 11:3)
• Conviction:
  Be true to God’s Word and Holy Spirit no matter the cost” (Acts 6:8, 1 Cor 4:2)

• Must have testimony of trusting Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord and of continuing to mature in Christ.
• Must align to NAB conference Statement of Beliefs
• Must have testimony of a call to ministry
• Must be eligible for membership at First Baptist Church under established guidelines
• Must have sufficient education and training for ministry required
  • Master of Divinity preferred
  • Ministry experience and demonstrated handling of God’s Word may be substituted
• Must have Ministry experience
  • Senior Pastor experience preferred
  • Leadership and discipleship experience preferred
• Must be of high moral character and be emotionally, mentally, and spiritually mature
