The Good Samaritan Society – Ellsworth is a 43‑bed long‑term care skilled nursing facility nestled in the peaceful Smokey Hills of central Kansas.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care, demonstrating competency within the full scope of nursing expertise and utilizing age‑ and population‑specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting.

The RN cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment, coordinating care, performing resident assessment, providing resident education, and executing various nursing interventions. May serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel, ensuring safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care concerns. All activities are performed within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and state administrative rules.

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA) – Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs; multistate licensure accepted in NLC states.
• Maintain required departmental competencies and certifications.
