Yale New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael Campus is actively hiring Registered Nurses for the following Medicine units:
- SLA 3 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry
- SLA 4 – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry
- SLA 5 – Adult Acute Care Renal and Palliative Specialty Medicine V5N
- V5W – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry
- V4W – Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry
- Cel 3 – Acute Care for Older Adults Medicine with Telemetry
- Cel 4 – Adult Acute Care Medicine

Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on a nursing unit/department according to unit policies and procedures.
- Provide supervision of non‑RN personnel on the assigned unit and, when assuming the charge role, delegate and supervise unit activities.
- Assume other duties as arranged to maintain a high level of service and to support smooth operation of the department/unit.
- Assess the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
- Develop, communicate, and document a plan of care reflecting individualized patient problems and interventions to achieve desired outcomes, involving the patient, family, and healthcare team in the process.
- Implement and coordinate the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team; evaluate effectiveness of the plan, patient response to care, and readiness for discharge, revising the plan as needed.
- Plan for education by assessing individual learning needs and readiness; provide educational opportunities and document outcomes.
- Act as a preceptor to new staff and as a charge nurse.
- Demonstrate competency in caring for neuro patients, including neuro assessment, airway management, tracheal care, and participating in special neuro procedures.
- Perform pharyngeal, endotracheal, and tracheostomy suctioning according to established policy and procedure.
- Use equipment and care of patients in halo braces and perform other tasks as directed to ensure a smooth operation of the unit.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Proficient in use of computer software, including electronic patient records and internet literature searches regarding patient care.
N/A – No specific prior experience required.
LicensureValid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
Special Skills- BLS required.
