Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Quinter, Kansas. The assignment includes 12‑hour nights, 36 hours per week, and a travel salary with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid the physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification.
• STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA / ARC).
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
• Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
