Part Time​/PRN Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Kansas law.
• Order, review, and/or follow up on treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff regularly to discuss changes in condition and updates to the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kansas.
• Board certification.
• DEA licensure (optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds, including Kennedy ulcers.
• Comfortable staging pressure injuries according to NPIAP guidelines.
• Familiar with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products—collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME such as pressure-relieving/reducing devices.
• Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience working in a long‑term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
