Location: Sylvan Grove
Job Summary:
Night shift registered nurse (United States of America) responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence‑based patient care in an acute clinical environment. This role emphasizes collaborative teamwork, quality improvement, professional development, and adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities andEssential Functions:
- Perform the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — using evidence‑based practice and analytical reasoning to deliver individualized care.
- Deliver patient‑centered, culturally competent care that adapts to the specific characteristics of the patient population (e.g., age, gender, disease).
- Partner with patients and significant others, utilizing appropriate communication methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and focused teaching to keep care goals patient‑centered.
- Coordinate and document safe, high‑quality care, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all clinical documentation and compliance with a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members through active teamwork and collaboration.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including research utilization and shared governance, to promote safe, quality patient care.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- Serve as preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students to develop future qualified workforce and model professional nursing practice.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including participation in value analysis and data collection to address clinical questions.
- Support efficient use of human and material resources, contribute to the development of protocols and procedures, and assist in achieving best practice outcomes.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or equivalent within 180 days of hire.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or equivalent.
- RN – Registered Nurse (single state) or RN‑COMPACT (multi‑state compact).
- TNCC – Trauma Nurse Core Course or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 1 year of recent, acute‑care clinical nursing experience.
Required MinimumSkills:
- Analytical and critical thinking skills applied to nursing practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous learning.
- Capability to function independently and within interdisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced environment.
