Location: Larned
Overview
Offering premium pay of $35/hr for the first 60 days, day‑shift availability, and a full‑time conversion bonus with comprehensive benefits after 60 days.
Responsibilities- Responsible for daily nursing operations of a specific unit/wing.
- Perform nursing techniques for resident comfort and well‑being; check each resident daily to determine status and ensure residents reach the highest attainable level of functioning.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during rounds.
- Administer prescribed medications orally or by injection; provide treatments using therapeutic equipment; ensure proper handling and storage of medications and controlled substances.
- Observe residents’ reactions to medication and treatment.
- Record and report changes in residents’ condition to supervisor and attending physician.
- Maintain residents’ medical records as required by policy.
- Assist in planning, supervising and instructing CNAs; assign daily work assignments to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
- Implement and maintain utilized policies.
- Ensure safe work practices are utilized.
- Apply proper infection control techniques.
- Assists in the Continuous Quality Improvement Program and ensures follow‑up occurs.
- Report accurately to oncoming shift Charge LPNs regarding changes in resident status and follow‑up needs.
- Provide input for CNA performance evaluations.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline CNAs as needed; ensure personnel policies are followed.
- Recommend staffing, equipment, and supply needs to DNS.
- Capture charges for supplies issued to residents on that unit.
- Participate in the care planning process and ensure the nursing component is implemented.
- Ensure residents’ rights are respected and coordinate with other departments to facilitate activities.
- Other duties assigned by Supervisor or Director of Nursing Services.
- Must be able to travel to any center within the region/company.
- Must be available to work overtime up to double shifts.
- Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
- Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
- Adaptable to a variety of duties with frequent changes; work schedule may shift daily.
- Comfortable working closely with residents, physicians, and staff.
- Capable of working to prescribed nursing standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a strong service orientation.
- Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
