Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – LPN) to support nursing leadership and help ensure high-quality, compliant resident care within our skilled nursing or assisted living communities.
SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON – LPN) assists in the leadership, training, and supervision of the nursing department to ensure quality resident care and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards. This role supports the administration of the nursing program, provides clinical guidance to staff, and serves as a key partner to nursing leadership by advising on matters related to nursing services, resident care, and daily operations.

What You’ll Do- Assist the Director of Nursing with training, supervision, and development of nursing staff
- Support the administration of the nursing program to maintain quality standards of resident care
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, CMAs, and other care team members
- Assist with implementing and maintaining nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Collaborate with medical staff, department heads, and administrators on matters related to nursing services
- Support resident assessments, care planning, documentation, and monitoring of changes in condition
- Assist with medication systems in accordance with state regulations and pharmaceutical guidelines
- Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, and survey readiness
- Promote a safe, respectful, and home‑like environment for residents

- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
- Maintains current state registration and required continuing education
- Basic knowledge of nursing home or assisted living principles, methods, and procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and narcotic protocols
- Prior experience in skilled nursing, assisted living, or long‑term care preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
- Ability to support staff development and work collaboratively with leadership
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Passion for senior care and resident advocacy

- Desire to grow in nursing leadership
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
