Location: Sublette
This position is a highly skilled professional role in public health and clinic nursing, responsible for directing nursing services in both clinic and community settings. The role includes administrative, supervisory, and consultative responsibilities. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, and overseeing local public health nursing programs; coordinating services with community health organizations; developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures; and ensuring high standards of public health nursing practice.
This position requires strong leadership, communication, organizational, and public relations skills.
Essential Functions Participate in the planning, coordination, and operation of public health clinics.
Provide direct client care, including:
Conducting patient interviews
Performing diagnostic and screening tests
Administering treatments and immunizations
Maintaining accurate clinical records
Making appropriate referrals
Assist in epidemiological monitoring, disease control efforts, and interpretation of communicable disease protocols.
Develop, implement, and evaluate administrative policies, procedures, and nursing components of specialized public health programs.
Oversee daily operations to ensure adequate staffing and coverage across all clinics and programs.
Develop, review, and maintain nursing protocols, standing orders, and documentation forms.
Assume operational leadership in the absence of the Administrator.
Participate in recruitment and hiring of nursing, support, and clerical staff in collaboration with leadership.
Provide onboarding, training, and supervision of new staff.
Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, home visitors, and clerical personnel.
Provide consultation to staff, community organizations, and external partners regarding program development.
Lead and participate in community outreach, health promotion, and education initiatives
This position is an on‑site role and is not eligible for remote or telecommuting work. Regular, in‑person attendance at the designated work location is an essential function of the position.

Technical Skills Comprehensive knowledge of:
Public health nursing theory and practice
Supervisory and leadership principles
Community health systems and issues
Ability to:
Plan, implement, and evaluate public health programs
Provide evidence-based nursing care Administer treatments, injections, and screenings accurately
Use proper clinical procedures and equipment
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations, including non-English speaking individuals.
Education and Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, active license required.
Current CPR certification required.
Experience Minimum of 3–6 years of public health nursing experience required.
Expected to achieve full job proficiency within one year of employment.
Problem Solving Exercises independent judgment in addressing:
Public health and safety concerns
Patient complaints and service issues
Personnel and staffing challenges
Decision Making Independent decision-making is a key component of this role, including:
Prioritization of daily operations
Resolution of clinical and administrative issues
Allocation of resources and staff
Financial Accountability Responsible for departmental equipment and resources.
Authorized to purchase necessary supplies.
Does not directly participate in annual budget planning.
Physical Requirements Ability to perform work primarily in an office and clinical environment.
May require movement between clinic and community settings.
Additional Duties Performs other duties as assigned to support organizational goals and community health needs.
