Hospice Care Nurse; RN

Job Overview

Accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients and families of all ages, according to the individualized needs of the patient, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Under the direction of the Hospice Clinical Supervisor and on order of the physician, manage a caseload of patients living within the service area and coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team to promote comfort and a peaceful death.

7,500 USD hiring bonus for eligible external candidates that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment. Additional compensation may be available such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

• Provide direct nursing care to hospice patients.
• Coordinate care activities with the health care team.
• Assist patients and families in achieving a comfortable and peaceful death.
• Maintain compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Oregon Registered Nurse License.
• 1 year of medical/surgical experience, recent acute care or long‑term care experience.
• Experience in end‑of‑life care.
• Recent oncology or home hospice or home health experience.
