- Assist the Certified Nursing Assistant in providing direct care to residents/patients according to treatment plans and as directed by the training instructor.
- Help with resident/patient care needs and comforts including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing/undressing, and maintaining room cleanliness.
- Complete assignments directed by the training instructor, including exercises and hands-on learning activities.
- Attend and participate in classroom activities, scheduled orientation programs and on-the-job training.
- Provide safe bedside care and assistance with integrity and compassion.
- Communicate effectively with patients/residents and nursing team members to ensure confidence and quality of care.
- Accompany residents, as needed, to activities and functions.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Build supportive relationships with patients/residents, family members, and other team members.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations, as this position may access protected health information.
- Study for and pass the state-administered exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Willingness to learn and passion for caring for residents and patients at their point of need.
- Prior experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care center is a plus.
- Ability to communicate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents/patients, families, community members, volunteers, and Diversicare team members.
- Special interest in and positive attitude toward working with long-term care residents/patients and the elderly.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
