SummaryWith minimal supervision, the Inspector is responsible for assuring conformance to Cobalt Engineering and Quality assurance requirements for manufacturing and installation of components. The role reports to the Quality Supervisor/Manager and functions as an individual contributor. The Inspector also supports strategic, operational, and financial objectives at the assigned site while aiding the production process to prevent reoccurrences of quality escapes into the production process.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Perform and/or assist with internal layered process audits.
- Support customer issues, quality audits, MRB, Quality initiatives.
- Provide support for supplier rejections, stock purge of defective parts and initiate the corrective action process.
- Ability to train team members on Inspection and RCCA process.
- Perform follow-up reviews to validate conformance to engineering and quality acceptance criteria as appropriate.
- Make recommendations and participate in training problem solving teams to improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the Quality and Manufacturing Systems.
- Support implementation and analysis of process and product metrics.

Activities:- Conduct training/provide coaching on QA acceptance criteria, corrective action, and other on-the-job training, as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain effective communications, both written and oral.
- Minimal PC skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Excel.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements. Must be able to promote a participative, team-oriented environment, working with customers (both internal and external), all employees, vendors, and others in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general Engineering documents and specifications. Ability to generate reports, business correspondence, work instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to compile and present data in a format that facilitates information sharing and decision making.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions.
Mathematical SkillsGeneral math skills required.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must work on the manufacturing floor, interacting with employees, customers, and suppliers to review manufacturing and quality processes. The employee will work in the plant to collect data, investigate, and solve problems. PPE is required on the shop floor. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderate. Suitable environmental conditions include heat, cold, dust, dampness, height, chemical, and noise.
