Description
Harlan Global Manufacturing is seeking a hands‑on Quality Technician to support quality assurance activities, vehicle inspections, warranty investigations, customer quality concerns, and continuous improvement efforts. This position is responsible for inspecting vehicles and components, identifying quality issues, investigating warranty claims, and working with production teams to prevent defects before products reach customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing quality, possess strong problem‑solving skills, and be comfortable interacting directly with customers regarding quality and warranty‑related matters. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Vehicle & Product Inspection- Perform hands‑on inspections of completed vehicles, assemblies, components, and manufactured products.
- Verify products meet company quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify defects, non‑conformances, and workmanship issues during production and final inspection.
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and warranty claims.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding quality concerns and warranty‑related issues.
- Coordinate inspections and evaluations of returned parts and vehicles.
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
- Maintain records of warranty claims, resolutions, and quality trends.
- Participate in root‑cause investigations involving product defects and quality failures.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in developing and improving inspection procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.
- Work with production personnel to identify opportunities for reducing defects and improving product quality.
- Monitor recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in evaluating incoming materials and components for quality compliance.
- Support supplier quality investigations when component defects are identified.
- Collaborate with production, engineering and operations teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Help ensure quality requirements are understood and followed throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality records, corrective action documentation, and warranty files.
- Assist with internal quality audits and compliance activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality management system requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or related training preferred.
- Minimum two years of manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or related experience.
- Experience performing hands‑on inspections of manufactured products, vehicles, or equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in vehicle, trailer, transportation equipment, automotive, or related manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and root‑cause analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Six Sigma training or certification (Green Belt preferred but not required).
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
