Position: Quality Control (QC) Inspector
Location: Ellsworth

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Inspector responsible for quality inspection activities to ensure all products meet customer specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality and integrity of assembled valves and components within the manufacturing facility. The QC Inspector will conduct visual and functional inspections of assembled products, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality guidelines.

This role plays a critical part in identifying defects, supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring overall production excellence.

Key Responsibilities Inspection of Assembled Products
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on valves and associated components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Verify assembly processes follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • Inspect finished valves for functionality, appearance, and completeness prior to final approval or shipment.
Measurement and Testing
  • Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Conduct functional testing on assembled valves to validate performance under specified operating conditions.
  • Perform pressure, leakage, and integrity testing according to product specifications.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Record inspection results and document any deviations from established quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs, reports, and records in compliance with company requirements.
  • Communicate quality concerns and non-conformances to supervisors, engineering, and production teams.
Defect Identification and Root Cause Analysis
  • Identify, document, and report product defects or quality concerns.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor rework and corrective processes to ensure issues are effectively resolved.
Continuous Improvement
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate Degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, inspection, or quality control environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects and discrepancies.
  • Experience working within ISO or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of automated inspection systems and equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to operate machinery, equipment, and computer systems.
  • Occasional climbing of ladders and stairs.
Sensory Requirements
  • Good vision, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in areas with elevated noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing facility environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear as applicable.
  • Work performed around moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles while following established safety procedures.
  • May require movement between indoor and outdoor work areas under varying weather conditions.
