Position: 1st Shift Quality Technician; Pay starting at $20.35/ hour
Location: Hesston

Quality Tech 1st Shift – 6:30am to 3:00pm
Pay starting at $20.35/hour

Quality Tech duties involve applying quality standards set by the Quality department to inspect parts, products, and processes, ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications. The role includes auditing, process capability reviews, and handling defective internal and supplier parts.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods to verify adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Use fixed or pre-set measuring instruments, compare assembled products to samples or models, and assess paint quality and overall appearance.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and supplier representatives to communicate non-conformities and propose improvements or remedies.
  • Work with Production Supervisors to approve re-work of products.
  • Execute periodic inspections of in-process fabricated parts for print specifications and defects.
  • Inspect welded assemblies for print specifications and weld quality.
  • Operate inspection equipment such as fixed gauges, templates, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and portable coordinate measuring machines.
  • Reject defective parts, notify department supervisors or suppliers, and maintain records of rejected part status.
Qualifications
  • High school or GED diploma required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
  • Strong adherence to standards and directions.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a noisy assembly plant production environment, lift truck traffic, and with moving parts.
  • Prepared for extended periods of standing.
