Location: Satanta

Program Description

Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for hospital patients, residents, Senior Living Neighbors, Heritage residents, daycare, employees, and visitors. Performs routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food. Cleans the kitchen area and cooking utensils. Prepare snacks for residents and patients. Must be able to work in all areas.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals for the facility and special events. Ensures food quality, sanitation, safety, and professional customer service.

Food Preparation & Service (60%)
  • Review menus/work orders to prepare required food quantities.
  • Cook, season, and prepare meals according to recipes.
  • Set up steam tables, serving lines, beverages, and food carts.
  • Check food appearance, temperature, and tray accuracy.
  • Serve meals according to ordered diets; serve visitors and staff.
  • Operate kitchen equipment (mixers, grinders, blenders).
  • Handle payments for visitors/staff.
  • Make desserts, prep ingredients, and replenish salad bar.
  • Report equipment issues, spoiled food, or supply needs.
  • Assist with checking in groceries and storing supplies.
Sanitation (25%)
  • Maintain sanitary standards throughout food preparation.
  • Clean kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Operate dishwasher; manage trash disposal.
Charting & Documentation (5%)
  • Maintain food intake percentages for residents.
  • Complete required departmental documentation and reports.
Professional Development (10%)
  • Attend meetings, in‑services, and required trainings.
  • Maintain required records and support departmental improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience:

    Cooking experience recommended.
  • Certificates:
    Serv Safe preferred.
  • Language:
    English required during work hours.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Frequent interruptions, heat, steam, odors, chemicals.
  • Risk of cuts, burns, and exposure to kitchen hazards.
  • Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), prolonged standing/walking.
  • Regular bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
Hours of Operation

Will work hours scheduled including weekends and holidays.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Temperament

Must be friendly and helpful yet exhibit professionalism as this is a service department and everyone is our customer.
