Reports To:
Dietary Manager
Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager and the Cook, the Dietary Aide/Dishwasher helps prepare the residents’ drinks and doctor-ordered snacks and helps set up trays for meals. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within our kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:- Prepares liquids for residents at mealtime.
- Assists in preparation of salads/desserts as requested by Cook/Dietary Manager.
- Sets up meal trays at mealtime.
- Assists with cleanup of kitchen throughout the day and at closing time.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly and efficiently to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored according to established procedures and health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient operations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a supportive and respectful work environment.

None. - Interrelationships:
Dietary Aide works closely with all Dietary employees and LTC nursing staff, as well as interacting regularly with residents, residents’ families, and staff from throughout the organization.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as opportunities arise.
- Must be able to read and write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions.
Works in clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated kitchen.
Stands and walks short distances throughout the workday.
Stoops for, reaches for, and lifts some small equipment.
Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
