General FunctionAs a Mia Italian Clerk, this position will be responsible for taking orders from customers over the telephone or at the counter, receiving products requested by the department manager, checking that orders are correct, and providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and teammates. Additionally, you will ensure a positive company image.

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, Health Wellness Home;
Food Service Director;
Mia Italian Department Manager.

- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
- Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
- Assist customers by:
- Escorting them to the products they’re looking for.
- Sourcing products that are out of reach.
- Loading or unloading heavy items.
- Noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
- Performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to callers, including taking orders.
- Takes customer orders at the counter.
- Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and neat.
- Review the status and appearance of the food for freshness.
- Prepare pizza toppings (green peppers, onions, etc.).
- Order breads from the bakery or outside.
- Receive product and verify orders; pre‑bake (partially bake) pizza crust for the case.
- Ensure an adequate supply of product is ready and on hand.
- Anticipate product needs for the department daily, preparing, finishing, and replenishing as necessary.
- Inventory the cold case and determine what is needed for product replacement.
- Run the department registers and receive payment, make change, etc., where applicable.
- Remove trash in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Report to work when scheduled and on time.
- Order product requested by department manager.
- Prepare pizza dough and bread sticks when necessary.
- Pull old product from the case and fill with new product.
- Assist in other areas of store as needed.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions; manage a few concrete variables.
- Basic arithmetic skills: simple addition, subtraction, and recording numbers.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
High school diploma or equivalent and six months or less of similar or related experience.
Physical Requirements- Physically able to exert up to 20–25 pounds of force occasionally; up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and negligible force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
This position is continually exposed to flour, dust, noise, and temperature extremes. There is occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals/solvents. The work environment is fast‑paced with significant pressure.
Equipment Used To Perform JobOven, steamer, scale, big mixer, shrink wrap machine, CARS program, register, walk‑in cooler, pizza cutter, knives, and slice cases.
ContactsDaily contact with internal customers and the general public. Weekly contact with suppliers/vendors. Contact with Federal/State Governmental or Regulatory Agencies as necessary.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
