SummaryThe Technical Sales Manager at AAON drives sales growth and expands market presence within the assigned geographic territory. The manager develops and executes regional sales strategies, builds strong relationships with key accounts and decision‑makers, and provides technical product support and training to sales partners and customers. This role requires a deep understanding of datacenter cooling systems, market dynamics, and customer needs and involves frequent travel within the region.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Manage and support manufacturer representatives and distribution partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand AAON’s market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and decision‑makers.
- Coach representative leaders to strengthen their businesses and results.
- Support representative sales efforts with input on customer account plans and assist with sales and technical strategies.
- Provide technical product support and training to sales partners and customers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, marketing, customer care, and AAON business unit sales leaders.
- Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
- Represent AAON at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
- Own the customer experience of representatives and our customers, working across internal teams to address customer concerns, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business discipline is preferred.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably in datacenter cooling HVAC or industrial equipment, or equivalent background.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, applications, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
