Compensation

Salary range: $42,900.00 – $71,500.00. The range complies with state specific laws. Your actual rate of pay may be influenced by your skills, years of experience and other factors. You may be eligible to participate in the company’s Incentive Plan.

Job Summary

This outside sales position promotes the company’s products and services and builds relationships with new and existing accounts. The role focuses on helping customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals. Some non‑traditional hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Seek and qualify prospects following company account stratification goals.
  • Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products and services to meet those needs.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products based on business needs and goals.
  • Stay informed of market conditions, product innovations, competitors’ products, prices, and sales; share information with customers as part of value‑added services.
  • Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability and use.
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings and other events.
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and clients; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Manage deliveries to the routing schedule published by the transportation department; troubleshoot problems such as out‑of‑stock items or special orders.
  • Participate in company functions, promotions, customer visits and events.
  • Attend and participate in general sales and district meetings.
  • Engage in ongoing training sessions and assist with training new employees as requested.
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special‑order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
  • Perform administrative duties, including preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits, pickup requests, sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts or related discipline.
  • or High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of Restaurant Management, B2B or outside sales experience, or equivalent comparable experience including completion of the Sysco Sales Internship.
  • Valid driver’s license with a record that meets company insurability standards.
  • Current automobile insurance with limits:
    Bodily injury – $100,000 each person and $300,000 each accident; property damage – $100,000.
  • Pass employment testing.
  • Must sign the Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
  • Reside or be willing to relocate to the geographical vicinity of the territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi‑Linguistic.
  • Restaurant Management experience.
  • Food service or outside sales experience.
  • Chef experience.
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations relevant to the role.
Professional Skills
  • Basic PC skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Building trust, building customer loyalty, follow‑up, sales ability and persuasiveness, managing work, adaptability, communication.
