Heavy Truck and Trailer Technician
Now Hiring for Rolla KS! Transdev in Perryton, TX is seeking an experienced technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles and equipment which will primarily be class 8 trucks and trailers. As a Truck and Trailer Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.
Compensationand Benefits
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $26.00 – maximum $32.00 per hour

- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe by performing repairs with moderate supervision, including replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, checking fluid levels, changing fluids and filters, and lubricating components.
- Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision, including brakes and brake inspections, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches, and other repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used; ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately; maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PMs), safety maintenance inspections and annual maintenance inspections at prescribed intervals of time and usage.
- Remove, replace, and repair engine, transmission and differential assemblies.
- Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Cleans vehicles as requested or required.
- Other responsibility as requested or required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class A CDL with air brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license (if required).
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Extensive mechanical aptitude and 5 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Adhere to standards set by state DOT for motor vehicle inspections and safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory to complete all assigned duties and maintain them in a clean and safe manner.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
