Job Overview
Now Hiring for our shop in Rolla, KS! This position will perform routine and some non-routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles (primarily Class 8 Trucks and Pickups) following Transdev standards. Tasks include tire maintenance, service calls, visual inspections, and more. The role is performed with minimal supervision and may involve mentoring Technician I.
Responsibilities- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe by performing limited repairs under moderate supervision (e.g., replacement of bulbs, fuses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, checking fluid levels, changing fluids and filters, lubricating components).
- Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision (brakes, brake inspections, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, clutches).
- Maintain records of all maintenance work including parts and supplies used, complete work orders accurately, and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
- Assist Tech III with preventative maintenance, safety maintenance inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Remove and replace engine, transmission, and differential assemblies under Maintenance Technician III supervision.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies, and procedures.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment and clean vehicles as requested.
- Other responsibilities as requested or required.
- Competitive compensation $22.00 – $26.00 per hour.
- Vacation: minimum 2 weeks.
- Sick days: 5 days.
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating).

- Company‑paid ASE testing and training materials.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license if required.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Intermediate problem‑solving and computer skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain an organized, clean shop and work environment.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory and maintain it safely.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
- Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt, and grease.
- Work under all weather conditions.
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Work in crouched, bent, or lying positions on a mechanic’s creeper or beneath motor vehicle equipment.
