Now Hiring for our shop in Rolla, KS!
This position will perform routine and some non‑routine maintenance and repair work on vehicles (primarily Class 8 trucks and pickups) in accordance with Transdev standards. This may include, but is not limited to, tire maintenance, fulfilling service calls for repair, conducting visual inspections of vehicles, and related work as assigned. The technician works under minimal supervision, handles more advanced issues, and may refer more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
All work is performed with a commitment to safety. The technician may also mentor or provide informal guidance to Technician I.
- Competitive compensation package of minimum $18.00 – maximum $22.00 per hour
- Vacation: at least two (2) weeks

- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision: replacement of light bulbs, fuses, lenses, wiper blades, belts, hoses, batteries, checking fluid levels, changing fluids and filters, and lubricating components.
- Perform mechanical repairs under moderate supervision, including brake repairs and inspections, engine tune‑ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used. Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain parts usage records and order repair parts from designated suppliers.
- Assist Tech III with preventative maintenance (PMs), safety and annual inspections at prescribed intervals.
- Remove and replace engine, transmission and differential assemblies under Maintenance Technician III supervision.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under moderate supervision.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval when required.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev standards, policies and procedures.
- Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Repair and maintain all shop equipment.
- Clean vehicles as requested or required.
- Other responsibilities as requested or required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair (preferred).
- Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (preferred).
- State inspection license (if required).
- ASE certification preferred.
- Intermediate mechanical aptitude and 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
- Adherence to state DOT motor vehicle inspection and safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Intermediate problem‑solving ability.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Comfortable using hand tools.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Possess adequate mechanic tool inventory maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Maintenance shop environment with dust, dirt and grease.
- Ability to work under all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a crouched position or on back, lying on mechanic’s creeper, beneath motor vehicle equipment.
