Maintenance Technician
Home of the Flint Hills is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician for a part-time role to maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of our community. This role is responsible for performing general repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from residents and staff
- Complete general repairs including drywall, painting, flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures
- Maintain building safety systems (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, generators)
- Perform light plumbing and electrical repairs; coordinate with licensed contractors for major work as needed
- Maintain grounds, including mowing, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and facility safety codes and regulations
- Assist with move-in/move-out room preparation and turnover
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset when interacting with residents
- Valid driver's license (if travel between locations or errands required)
Position Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
