Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to join our Equipment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, as well as performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance. As a key member of our Equipment division, the Mechanic will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective use of company resources.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction setting
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred
