Maintenance Technician

An established manufacturing operation is adding a Maintenance Technician on nights to keep its production equipment running. You troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures across the plant — motors, conveyors, presses, pneumatic tools, and production machines — and get lines back up fast. Pay moves up a posted, skill-based ladder as you add electrical, PLC, and advanced-diagnostic capability.

Anticipated $17.60–$27.85 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill level

Pay advances on a defined skill ladder (electrical, PLC, and advanced diagnostics move you up)

Full suite of benefits, 401K w/match, PTO/Holiday

Typical shift 5:00PM - 3:30AM; maintenance typically runs ~50 hours/week on 10-hour shifts

Overview
  • Keep production equipment running — troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures with a root-cause mindset
  • Diagnose by observation — listen to and inspect running equipment to find the source of trouble before it becomes downtime
  • Repair or replace defective parts: bearings, belts, chains, motors, control circuits, and structural components
  • Use shop tools (welder, drill press, grinder, metalworking tools) to fabricate and repair parts
  • Read wiring diagrams and prints to guide repairs; work safely around energized systems
  • Log work and initiate parts/purchase requisitions to keep preventive maintenance on schedule
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical and basic electrical foundation (strongly preferred) — bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, alignment; motors, relays, contractors, sensors
  • Troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (strongly preferred)
  • Proper multimeter use and ability to read wiring diagrams and control circuits
  • Comfortable and safe working around energized systems
  • Basic PLC/VFD interaction and automation exposure (trainable; a plus)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally; work at heights and in loud conditions
  • Willing to work night shift
