OverviewAmerican Implement is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work as a Service Technician for our dealership in Goodland, Kansas. The candidate must be able to efficiently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various systems of equipment to keep producers up and running at their full potential. A great candidate is an individual who likes to problem-solve, is a continuous learner with a dedicated work ethic, and can present themselves professionally, courteously, and positively.
Compensation- Full-time position with 45+ hours per week.
- Base hourly wage ranges between $20–$40+ per hour, DOE.

- Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
- Diagnose and plan effective and efficient repairs of machinery.
- Prepare all reports and forms required with work assignments.
- Follow production schedules and requirements for completion of assignments.
- Participate in service training programs for skill development.
- Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations; follow safety precautions while operating vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous service, presenting a positive image of the company.
- Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.
- Three to five years’ experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment; combined experience preferred.
- John Deere Technician graduate, John Deere Technician experience, or certificate of completion from mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment.
Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes. - Computer skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Set of tools to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, regularly lifting 75 lbs without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
