What you’ll do
  • Assist clients in navigating housing programs by providing information on available services, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
  • Conduct intake interviews with clients to assess their housing needs and determine the most appropriate assistance options.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, applications, and case progress in the agency's database.
  • Collaborate with local agencies, landlords, and community organizations to facilitate housing placements and support services for clients.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to clients to ensure they are successfully accessing and utilizing housing resources.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to educate the community about housing services and available programs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of housing programs, including workshops and informational sessions for clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of housing services, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement to management.
  • Respond to client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Stay informed about local housing policies, regulations, and funding opportunities to better assist clients and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required for program compliance and funding purposes.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to housing services.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of experience in social services, housing assistance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and databases for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge of local housing policies, programs, and resources is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Nice to have
  • Experience working with low-income populations or in a non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with case management software and tools.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
