Direct Support Professional

COF Training Services Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional to mentor youth and adults in workforce and vocational training programs. In this role, you will provide person-centered support, assist with daily living and life skills, and reinforce training activities that promote independence and job readiness. Responsibilities include monitoring participant progress, documenting services, coordinating with instructors and counselors, and supporting community integration.

You will model professional behavior, encourage goal setting, and help create a respectful, inclusive learning environment aligned with COF's mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centered support to youth and adults in vocational and workforce training programs.
• Coach participants in daily living, life skills, and work-readiness behaviors to promote independence.
• Reinforce classroom and technical training through individualized practice and guidance.
• Monitor, document, and report participant progress, behaviors, and outcomes in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and community partners to coordinate services and supports.
• Support safe community integration activities, including travel training and use of local resources.
• Assist with implementing behavior support strategies and use de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment aligned with COF's mission.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding participant needs, risks, and successes.
• Follow all organizational policies, confidentiality standards, and safety procedures.
