CDL Driver - Residential PTO

Shift: 5AM-4PM.

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments. They transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers pick up containers filled with waste or recyclable material, often weighing over 1,000 pounds, and maneuver them to pick‑up stages. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclable material and navigate residential environments.

Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large containers from customer locations, operating in tight overhead environments on industrial routes.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and DOT requirements and all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks using the standard DVIR.
• Immediately report all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Route Manager.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify the Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service, or potential safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Completely dump all receptacles and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
• Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by the Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire, or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement upon hire.
