Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused, bilingual (Japanese/English) service agent to join our remote support team for a 1-year contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping others, and is fluent in both Japanese and English. You will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction across various communication channels.

Base

pay range

$25.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat in both Japanese and English
  • Provide accurate information regarding products, services, and policies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues efficiently and empathetically
  • Document interactions and escalate complex issues when necessary
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless customer support
  • Maintain performance metrics including response time, resolution rate, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written)
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience (remote experience preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM systems and support platforms
  • Must be available to work the 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. PT shift, including weekends or holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Japanese customers or working in a bilingual environment
  • Familiarity with e-commerce, SaaS, or tech support
  • Knowledge of cultural nuances in Japanese customer service
