Position: Lecturer (General Social Sciences), Fall 2026 & Spring 2027

Social Sciences Lecturer

Salary Information:
Minimum for Academic Year , $2,053 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience. Other Conditions:

For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses in Social Sciences (SSCI) such as:
Philosophy of SSCI (SSCI 300), Statistical Analysis (SSCI 210), Methods & Teaching in SSCI Research (SSCI 301), Fieldwork & Qualitative Methods (SSCI 317)

Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.

Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.

Work under supervision of the Sociology faculty to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in discipline area.

As needed, work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Sciences or in relevant discipline.

Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications

College teaching experience
