Position: Lecturer (Early College History), Fall 2026 & Spring 2027

Lecturer In History

Salary Information:
Minimum for Academic Year , $2,053 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Other Conditions:

For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses in History.

Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.

Prepare course syllabi and reports, including assessment of learning outcomes, related to teaching and student progress.

Work under supervision of division chair to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in discipline area.

As needed, work with multimedia presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in History or related discipline for lecturers in History.

Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications

College teaching experience.

Experience teaching World History survey courses for lecturers in History.

Knowledge of Native Hawaiian and/or indigenous ways of knowing.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural setting, especially with people of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Asian or multicultural backgrounds.
