Lecturer (Early College Sociology)

Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 | Part‑Time Temporary

Location:

University of Hawai'i – West O'ahu – Academic Affairs (L)

Salary:
Minimum $2,053 per credit hour for the Academic Year 2026‑2027, commensurate with education and experience.

Other Conditions:
This is a part‑time lecturer position contingent on availability of funds and staffing requirements. Courses may be taught during the day, evening, weekend, or online.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned sociology courses (Early College).
  • Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  • Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  • Work under the supervision of the division chair to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  • Assist with multimedia presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off‑campus sites as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Social Sciences.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
Desirable Qualifications
  • College teaching experience.
