$6,221 to $7,568 per month (SR-24, Step D to I)
Note:
Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Job ResponsibilitiesPlans and supervises the operation of a large public library; supervises and participates in the selection, development and maintenance of a collection of materials in one or more broad and complex subject area(s); develops, plans, coordinates and evaluates a major area of library services (i.e., children/young adult services) on a statewide basis; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Legal authorization to work in the United States: citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
- Education:
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university. - Professional librarian experience:
Three and one‑half years of progressively responsible professional experience in one or more major functional areas of librarianship (e.g., selection, acquisition, cataloging and classification of materials, collection development and maintenance, reference and readers' advisory services, or development and promotion of library services), requiring application of principles, practices, knowledge, theories and tools of library science. - At least one year of experience comparable to Librarian IV in the state service.
- Librarian IV responsibilities include:
Plans and supervises the operation of a library; serves as a specialist for reference and materials or cataloging and classification in a subject field(s) or special collection(s); plans, coordinates and evaluates library services in a major service/functional area; provides specialized reference services and materials to departmental/program personnel; and performs other related duties as assigned. - Substitutions as allowed by the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
