Research Scientist, Environmental Compliance & Protection
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position:Serves under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Health Sciences Division, Public Health Command-Pacific as the Deputy Director for EHS Division. Responsible for planning, budgeting, programming, directing, and supervising of all activities of the EHS Division.

A. Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. (YOU MUST ATTACH TRANSCRIPTS) OR
B. Combination of
Education and Experience:
Courses equivalent to one of the majors, as shown in A above, that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (YOU MUST ATTACH TRANSCRIPTS)
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
One year of experience which includes executing environmental public health programs; conducting Technical Assistance Visits to validate operational preventive medicine capabilities; and managing program operating budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
