This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist you will ensure the delivery of evidence‑based practices in suicide prevention and crisis intervention, applying the techniques of: engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The incumbent is expected to provide crisis risk assessment skills to ensure the provision of emergency crisis interventions to a complex and high‑risk population. The incumbent will also provide specialty consultation and collaborate with a network of Veteran Crisis Lines, Suicide Prevention Coordinators across all regions nationwide and approved constituents (e.g., family, VA providers, Coaching to Care, Caregiver Support, Veterans Service Officers, law enforcement, etc.)
to coordinate expedited connections to treatment programs, support resources, and emergency services as needed. Duties will also include but are not limited to: providing specialty consultation, coordinating expedited connections, and addressing issues pertaining to the practice of the profession.
