ABOUT THE JOB:

The State Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of all operations across a given state. The State Manager has responsibility and accountability for driving Safety, controlling costs, developing the branch workforce, coordinating transportation, acting as the onsite supervisor for complex customized projects and successfully delivering modular space solutions to our customers. Success will be accomplished through value driven execution that fully complies with all Will Scot policies and all relevant laws and regulations.

The State Manager will maintain excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries, strive for high customer satisfaction and excel in Will Scots Core Values of Collaboration, Empowerment, Excellence, and Innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Conducts business in compliance with all Williams Scotsman Safety, Transportation, and Environmental Policies.
  • Conducts periodic safety meetings as well as update safety documents and logs i.e. OSHA, DOT/DQF.
  • Manages employee health and safety through creating a safer workplace, DuPont STOP, training and observations, and regularly scheduled assessments of the branch.
  • Ensures operating standards are conducted; supported by robust training and communication actions.
  • Provides managerial oversight to both contractors and full-time branch operational employees (direct labor, field service, setup crews, dispatch, admin, etc.); this includes employing timely and clear communication to all branch employees.
  • Ability to use all internal systems to provide safe, timely, cost effective, high quality and efficient delivery of revenue activities.
  • Develops forward looking plans (CPT) and budgets; actively manages costs. This includes all activities necessary to manage/operate a cost center.
  • Coordinates with in-house and vendors to support delivery, installation, knockdown and return for all TP and SP products. Approves delivery and installation vendor invoices.
  • Collaborates with the Regional Construction Services Director to assist with determining customer's needs, providing onsite supervision, and coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensures timely and accurate work order, off rent/damage bill, inventory and purchasing compliance.
  • Collaborates with HR and leadership to effectively manage branch workforce, ensuring the right recruiting and workforce training strategies are in place to advance company goals. Assesses talent, implements employee development plans and creates and maintains a learning environment. Proactively seeks out top talent externally to maintain a robust pool of qualified talent.
  • Oversees day-to-day Transportation Coordination across multiple branch sites; ensuring in-house and vendor drivers in direct support of unit deliveries and returns, ensuring timely customer delivery, targeting 100% OTIF (on time in-full) pick-up and deliver. Utilizes Sales Force on a daily basis.
  • Ensures the customer success specialist operates efficiently by actively managing the inbound and outbound customer contact, beginning at the handoff from sales at new order and following through post-delivery.
  • Uses Net Promoter Score (NPS) system to provide timely correspondence and to address internal issues.
