Skilled and Semi‑Skilled Construction Laborer – Warehouse Manufacturing
Ryder is hiring permanent, full‑time Construction Laborers at its warehouse manufacturing facility in Kapolei, Hawaii. The role involves repairing and assembling pallets using hand and power tools. Schedule is 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with a base hourly pay of $26.00.
Responsibilities- Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, prybar, hammer, grinder and a 25‑lb nail gun to repair or assemble pallets.
- Detach damaged boards with a prybar and remove existing nails with a hammer and grinder.
- Re‑nail components using the 25‑lb nail gun.
- Manually lift pallets ranging from 70 lb to the repair table.
- Ensure repaired pallets meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Always wear required safety equipment while repairing pallets.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 0 to 1 year of carpentry or construction experience (preferred).
- Ability to comprehend basic math.
- Ability to operate power tools safely.
- Ability to follow the repair process accurately.
- Flexibility to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
- Capability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs using proper techniques.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour shift).
- Coordination of hands and feet for repetitive movements.
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; a motor‑vehicle records check; a road test; and/or background checks or badging specific to the customer assignment.
