Essential Responsibilities
- Assist pilot in command (PIC) of MQ-9 aircraft and provide safe operation of aircraft payloads, sensors and communications equipment in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
- Participate in all phases of flight to include planning/briefing, execution, debrief and crew resource management.
- Adhere to military, civilian and ICAO flight rules, including FAA regulations.
- Provide expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft and sensor systems.
- Develop briefing and training materials to support flight operations.
- Plan and perform a wide range of operations with analog, digital, microwave, optical and mechanical systems under variable environmental conditions.
- Use technical knowledge of UAS operations to facilitate safe and efficient integration into the National Airspace System without reducing existing capacity or compromising safety.
- Collaborate with US Government organizations and Original Equipment Manufacturers to support UAS integration.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Active Secret U.S. Government clearance with the ability to obtain Top-Secret; U.S. citizenship required to obtain a Secret clearance.
- High school graduate (or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience in the performance and execution of U.S. military requirements.
- Within the last 10 years, at least one year of MQ-9A sensor operator duties with U.S. Naval/U.S. Air Force UAS flight operations; or within the last 15 years, at least three years of such duties.
- Qualified MQ-9A sensor operator (Form8/NATOPS Evaluation within the last three years) with at least 200 flight hours as MQ-9A sensor operator.
- Current FAA ClassI or ClassII medical certificate, or an equivalent DOD certificate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with levels of management, customers, and peers.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Ability to work as a team to accomplish mission requirements.
- Active Top-Secret clearance.
- Qualified MQ-9A Line-of-Sight Launch and Recovery (LOSL/R) sensor operator (Form8 within the last three years).
- Qualified MQ-9A SATCOM Launch and Recovery (SLR) sensor operator (documentation within the last three years).
- Current or previously qualified MQ-9A instructor sensor operator.
- $60.42 per hour – the compensation range reflects the employer’s intent for the position at the time of posting; actual compensation may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and market data.
