Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join the Caleb Brett team on site at our Kapolei, Hawaii facility, including a new onsite laboratory. Residents in the Marshall Islands, Guam, Saipan, Palau, and Micronesia are invited to apply. Our purpose:

- Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
- Perform measurement testing and sampling of petroleum products per clients specifications using defined methodologies, and complete associated paperwork.
- Conduct volume and temperature measurements and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
- Perform visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
- Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges and ships.
- Perform routine equipment calibrations, verifications and function checks.
- Verify and communicate results and enter data into the appropriate media (print or electronic) to ensure validity and traceability.
- Provide on-the-job training and receive guidance from experienced inspectors.
- Coordinate with terminal, transport and company personnel to ensure duties are carried out smoothly.
- Monitor availability of supplies and communicate needs to the Dispatcher or Coordinator.
- Organize and coordinate jobs so services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized and functional condition.
- Ensure timely submission of results and samples and maintain proper documentation.
- Basic grasp of mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment.
- Ability to work on an on-call basis.
- Cannot have a fear of heights; ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required).
- Must have or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire.
- Adherence to safety practices and policies to ensure safety of self and others at work.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate.
- Physical requirements to include lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting and driving.
- Experience with volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
- Experience with visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Experience with custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
- Experience with routine equipment calibrations, verifications, and function checks.
- Ability to verify and communicate results and enter them into the appropriate media.

- IFIA certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in the petroleum or shipping industry and with a petroleum inspection company.
