Performs various duties within the Micro Market and vending machines including but not limited to functionality and operation of machines, availability of products, money changing machines and payment kiosk, and ensuring maintenance upkeep of machines as required. Sells general merchandise to customers, exercising professional selling techniques; provides service which anticipates and exceeds customer expectations. Operates a motor vehicle throughout the geographical area and on public roads in connection with performance of job duties.
Responsibilities- Maintains Exchange owned machines and Micro Markets daily.
- Inspects and replenishes products, including sandwiches, cakes, pies, popcorn, salads, fruits, pastry, sodas, yogurt, laundry detergent, etc.; ensures dates for perishable items are adhered to and documents removal of expired food; sanitizes areas and prevents spoilage.
- Greets customers and provides sales-related assistance; assists in selecting merchandise and suggests additional items.
- Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged; communicates stock needs and issues to supervisor.
- Maintains prices and Exchange visual programs in micro markets and applicable machines; keeps current price lists.
- Maintains cleanliness of micro markets and machines (sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, emptying trash).
- Assists with merchandise resets to adhere to standards (adjacencies, branding, placement).
- Operates inventory devices (laptop, tablet, scanner, handheld) for inventory, receiving, and ordering.
- Relocates and installs new machines; cleans interiors and exteriors and adjusts dispensing units as needed.
- Collects money from vending machines and micro market kiosks; verifies cash and records counts; prepares cash collection documentation.
- Ensures accurate recording of transactions and machine servicing data; handles refunds as required.
- Performs inventory control for micro markets, trucks, and routes in vending and micro market systems.
- Receives daily cash receipts, tallies, and assists with deposits according to procedures.
- Interacts with customers and coworkers professionally; adheres to dress code and supports team members.
- Maintains knowledge of merchandise to assist customers and communicate product information clearly.
- Operates motor vehicle as required; loads/unloads merchandise and maintains vehicle cleanliness; prepares Daily Trip Report.
- Follows preventive maintenance schedules and maintains fuel levels, retaining receipts; ensures vehicle is clean and parked appropriately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Regularly lifts and transports objects up to 40 lbs (heavier items with assistance or equipment).
- Regular walking, bending, and reaching; work performed inside and outside.
- Exposure to weather conditions when loading/unloading; drives in various weather conditions; potential minor hazards.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license or valid CDL.
- Knowledge and skills to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Ability to pass appropriate background checks for the area of responsibility (e.g., security clearance).
- Pass the GSA defensive driving course.
- General
Experience:
One year of progressive clerical, office, or retail sales work with customer interaction. Substitutions:
Half-year of study above high school level may substitute for each 6 months of experience. - Specialized
Experience:
One year of progressively responsible experience in retail fundamentals including retail sales, services, vending, store operations, and warehouse activities.
